AFC Bournemouth’s January transfer window is set to explode into life with the addition of three new signings.

Last week the Cherries signed 20-year-old Dango Ouattara from Lorient and this week, there could be three new additions to the squad if reports are accurate.

The first looks likely to be another big-money signing in the form of Villarreal attacker Nicolas Jackson.

The 21-year-old Senegal international is a current team-mate of former AFC Bournemouth attacker Arnaut Danjuma, who also looks set to leave the La Liga side during the current transfer window.

Jackson has scored 2 goals in 14 Spanish La Liga appearances thus far this season and has reportedly been a target for Aston Villa, Everton and Southampton according to teamTALK, who describe him as “a centre-forward or occasionally as a winger”.

BBC Radio Solent reporter Kris Temple has reported that a €23 million fee has been agreed upon between the two sides.

Next in through the Vitality Stadium door could be Roma left-back Mathias Vina, as Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam has reported that a loan deal with an option to buy in the summer has been agreed upon with the Italian Serie A side.

Vina is a 25-year-old Uruguay international, who boasts an impressive honours list, having previously won the Uruguayan Premiera division with Nacional in 2019, the Copa Libertadores with Palmeiras in 2020 and 2021 and the UEFA Europa Conference League with Roma in 2022.

For the hat trick, the third signing could be someone who is well-known to AFC Bournemouth supporters.

Veteran goalkeeper Darren Randolph, between March 2014 and March 2017 conceded 19 times in just 4 games against the Cherries, including the 8-0 victory away to Birmingham City in October 2014.

Now 35 years old and entering the final 6 months of his contract with West Ham United, having not played a game since May 2021, he could be set to join Neto and Mark Travers as competition for the final half of the current Premier League campaign.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has reported that the two clubs have held talks over a permanent deal and Mark McAdam has added that Randolph is headed to Dean Court to complete a medical.

Have your say…

I do find it odd that we can’t convince Jordan Zemura to sign a new contract, but we can get into (now apparently serious) talks with Vina from Roma with a good number of Uruguay and Serie A appearances to his name. – To join the conversation, click here.
