AFC Bournemouth were expected to be busy on transfer deadline day, but not many would have predicted just how busy the Cherries turned out to be.

There were a whole host of new arrivals at Dean Court, with AFC Bournemouth head coach Scott Parker signing an entire new five-a-side team to add to his options as the Cherries push for promotion to the Premier League.

With plenty of incomings, departures were inevitable. But maybe not as many as expected and with one, quite a surprise.

The somewhat surprising exit was Norway international goalkeeper Ørjan Håskjold Nyland, who had his contract terminated after joining the club just over five months ago.

The 31-year-old had six months remaining on his contract but has failed to impress during his three appearances. He will remain training with the club as he recovers from a thigh injury.

The second departure was a loan move for 19-year-old striker Christian Saydee who signed a loan deal with League One outfit Burton Albion until the end of the season.

Despite his young age, Saydee has made five appearances for AFC Bournemouth this season. All five appearances have come from the bench, but he has featured in the EFL Cup, FA Cup and Championship, scoring on his debut in the opening round of the Football League Cup in a 5-0 win against the side from stadium:MK.

Whilst the transfer window has slammed shut, there is still a chance that one more player could leave Dean Court.

According to Scottish newspaper the Courier, Dundee face an anxious wait to find out if their loan deal for Zeno Ibsen Rossi can go through.

The newspaper reports that whilst all the necessary paperwork was completed by the Scottish Premiership side ahead of the Scotland transfer window deadline, “some paperwork from the English Championship side didn’t arrive until after midnight.”

Zeno Ibsen Rossi has previous experience of football in Scotland having previously enjoyed a loan spell with Kilmarnock.

One for the club historians here.

Is Nyland the only registered keeper to have never let in a league goal for AFCB, having played 90 mins or more for us?

I don’t know the answer, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was. – Join the conversation, click here.
