AFC Bournemouth director Tom Mitchell has revealed that the Cherries still hope to sign one or two more players during the January transfer window after completing the permanent signing of Steve Cook from Brighton.

The Cherries confirmed that Steve Cook had joined Wesley Thomas, Simon Francis, Charlie Daniels and Scott Malone in turning their loan moves into permanent deals on Tuesday afternoon.

AFC Bournemouth have also been linked with an enquiry for a Championship striker and Mitchell hopes that hopefully another addition can be added to manager Lee Bradbury`s squad.

Tom Mitchell told afcb.co.uk

“…Steve (Cook) wants to play first team football and he wasn’t getting that at Brighton, and that was a major factor in bringing him here. He wants to be in the Championship, just like everyone else here, and feels he is joining a club heading in the right direction…”

‘…We are still looking to bring in one or two more players and I’m not going to hide that, but we have a good squad here and the form over the last two months and our league position show that,’

‘We are treating the transfer window like pre-season in that we want to bring players in as soon as possible and start working with them. Just because the transfer window has just opened it doesn’t mean we have just started our work, we have been planning for a number of weeks and we believe it’s the best strategy to bring in the best players.’
