Ben Pearson has left AFC Bournemouth in a permanent move to Stoke City, the side that he spent a period on loan with last season.

There has been no mention of a potential fee from either club, with the 28-year-old signing a four-year contract with the Championship outfit.

Pearson made the move to AFC Bournemouth in January 2021 from Preston North End, he would go on to make 55 appearances in all competitions, including 41 appearances in the Championship, with 23 coming during the Cherries successful 2021/22 promotion-winning season.

Pearson would go on to make 7 Premier League appearances before making the loan move to Stoke City in January 2023.

Stoke City Technical Director Ricky Martin told stokecityfc.com

“Bringing Ben back to the Club on a permanent basis was a priority in our recruitment this summer,”

“He knows what it takes to win in the Championship having been successful with Preston and Bournemouth. He also thrives off working with Alex and is well suited to the high tempo football we want to play…”

“…Ben has already built that relationship on loan last season. The fans responded positively to his quality, work ethic and clear desire to win, something he wears on his sleeve every time he steps onto the pitch.”

I liked him. He was the sort of player you’d hate to play against, and he looked like he cut his own hair. Plus he didn’t use social media, which is refreshing for a footballer these days.

Good luck Ben, hope it all works out well for you. The fact he’s gone to a midtable Championship club, tells me that’s his level. When fit he was “entertaining” to watch, gave his all, got stuck in, very good at the only kind of shothousery that’s acceptable ( ie when it’s our player doing it ) : )

Stay fit and enjoy your career Ben : ) – To join the conversation, click here.
