Hungary international Milos Kerkez joined the Cherries for an undisclosed fee from AZ Alkmaar signing a “long-term contract” last month.

The fee according to Sky Sports was £ 14 million, plus a potential £1.5 million in add-ons and the 19-year-old instantly became the Cherries first-choice left-back following the departures of both Jordan Zemura and Matias Vina at the end of last season.

Assuming there aren’t any nasty surprises over the next few days, Kerkez is likely to be one of the first names on AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola’s first Premier League team sheet, which would make Kerkez one of the youngest players to ever play for the Cherries in the top flight of English football, narrowly beaten to that title by Lewis Cook.

Kerkez told afcb.co.uk

“I’m very excited and looking forward to it, so are my family. Every kid dreams of playing in the best league in the world and that’s the Premier League.

“It’s always been my dream and I’m finally here. My first Premier League game, it will be a big thing. We will analyse them with the coach, we will be prepared and we want to win.

“I faced West Ham in the Europa Conference League so I know what’s coming. Unfortunately, we got knocked out but it was a great experience. Playing in a European semi-final is no small thing…”

“…I’m just going to continue to give 100 per cent on the pitch for the club and want to help the team reach the best place we can in the league this season.”

Your say…
