AFC Bournemouth midfielder Emerson Hyndman looks set to join Scottish side Rangers on loan.

Hyndman made the move to England from Major League Soccer side FC Dallas in 2011 aged just 15.

His debut for Fulham came in August 2014 and he made 28 appearances for the London club before he joined the Cherries in June 2016, signing a four year contract.

The 20 year old American made his first start for the Cherries on Saturday, during AFC Bournemouth’s 3-0 away defeat to League One side Millwall in the FA Cup.

Later that evening the Scottish Sun started to speculate that Hyndman ‘will be sent to Scotland for first-team experience before returning to Dean Court in the summer’.

That report added that he would ‘fly in for talks at Ibrox’, later that day.

Subsequently the Daily Record then published a photo of Hyndman arriving at Glasgow Airport adding that Hyndman was ‘expected to agree terms on a loan deal at Ibrox for the rest of the season.’.

Speaking to the Guardian, prior to the game against Millwall he said…

“I had an unfortunate injury in pre-season which didn`t help my chances of impressing immediately, But the manager (Eddie Howe) told me that I might need a bit of time, which is OK. He doesn`t want any transition process when I do go into the side.

“Obviously, I`m just working to improve every day on everything I can, whether it`s on the pitch like receiving a ball or off the pitch in getting bigger. I`m fine height-wise, but obviously I could bulk up a little bit. I`m working hard on that and the more I`m in the gym, the more I`m going to be set up.
