Chelsea have now officially recalled Nathan Ake from his loan spell with AFC Bournemouth.
Ake made the move to the Cherries on a season long loan deal during pre-season.
The Netherlands Under 21 international had impressed following a run of starts in the Premier League where he has scored three goals.
He initially had to bide his time to break into the AFC Bournemouth XI, but when his chance came he has held on to the shirt.
However AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe had previously confirmed that there was a recall option in the season long loan deal and Premier League leaders Chelsea have opted to take that option.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte told Daily Express…
‘I called him back because I think he`s showing that he`s ready to stay in the squad of Chelsea, Chelsea is his home.
‘In the last season he played with Watford, and this season he was with Bournemouth. He`s shown he deserves to stay at a great team like Chelsea.
‘I`m pleased he`s come back. Ake gives me an important option because we are playing with three central defenders.
‘He can play on the left and in the middle. It`s important to see in training sessions if he can also play wing-back.`
I want to say thank you to all the fans at AFC Bournemouth, I really loved my time at the club? https://t.co/9BC3fgVY8C
