Howe: Injuries are a huge worry

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that there is a concern regarding both Charlie Daniels and Joshua King following the defeat to Liverpool.

Ahead of kick off striker Callum Wilson had an injection in his knee. Whilst sounding bad, especially considering Wilson’s history with knee problems, the Cherries believe it is only a short term problem.

During the game, Howe was forced to make two changes due to injury, with Junior Stanislas replacing Joshua King and an injury to Charlie Daniels forcing a major reshuffle across the back four with Nathan Ake moving from centre back to left back and Steve Cook coming on and slotting into Ake’s position.

Howe told afcb.co.uk

‘We don’t know the situation with either player, it’s a huge worry though regarding Charlie Daniels and Joshua King. It was a hamstring injury with King and a groin injury for Daniels so we’re not sure at the moment.

‘Callum Wilson had an injection in his knee for a really minute problem. It’s nothing serious.

We`ll be OK with Aké covering at LB if Cook and Francis stay fit. But while Charlie is out, unless we chuck Simpson in then we can`t really play a back 3.

I`d definitely start Simpson on Wednesday though. Needs as much experience as possible as he may well be needed soon in the PL. BTW is Brad Smith still alive?
