Howe: How we respond is key

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe refused to criticise his players following the inept performance against Liverpool at Dean Court on Sunday.

Whilst Liverpool’s world class quality shone bright during the 4-0 defeat, many Cherries players did themselves no favours in front of the watching Sky Sports cameras.

AFC Bournemouth frequently gave away possession with individual errors and failed to show the work rate of previous performances against the so called bigger clubs in the top flight of English football.

Howe told afcb.co.uk

‘I think it’s an understatement to say that was a tough one to take.

‘There’s not been many times as Bournemouth manager that I’ve felt like this after match.

‘In football management it happens though, we’re extremely disappointed but it’s how we respond, that’s the key thing…

‘…You’ll never get me criticising my players in public, or losing faith in them. That will never happen, we’re in a difficult situation we’re well aware of our position…’

Your Say…

I caught a bit of 606 and they seemed to be really pushing for someone to ring in and say ‘sack Eddie.’ Fair play to the two guys who rang in while I was listening and both said he should stay…seemed to annoy and confuse the pundits though…how dare we break from the perceived narrative! Isn’t the Premiership everything!?

I was there in League 2 and I will be there if we end up back down there but I believe Eddie will turn it around!
