Ryan Fraser has spoken of his motivation to push on last season and secure a spot on the Cherries wing, despite the increase in competition for places.

After a week when the Scottish U’21 international was on the receiving end of a 6-1 drubbing from the Netherlands, the ex-Aberdeen youngster is already looking to next season.

And despite an impressive full debut in the second tier for AFCB, the youngster is aware, particularly with Dan Gosling’s arrival, competition for places is going to be rife and he’s not going to relinquish his place in the team easily. He told Daily Echo that he’s not the only one in the club looking with anticipation as to who the new arrivals will be and where they might take the club:

‘I feel like I could start most games but it depends whether the manager brings in any players in my position. You always have a fight on for your place anyway, but if top players come in then I can learn from them and develop my own game to challenge them. “More quality can only help us all so it is really exciting. You hear rumours about who is coming in and whether they turn out to be true or not we do talk about who would be good for the squad. Everybody buzzes off it because getting better players just helps everybody. If we do get players in it will lift the whole squad and might help us to get promoted, you never know.’
