Former Arsenal, West Ham United and England midfielder Jack Wilshere could be set to sign a short-term contract with AFC Bournemouth.
AFC Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall has confirmed that he would be interested in holding talks with the 29-year-old after the midfielder returned to the south coast to train with the squad in December.
Wilshere played for the Cherries three-and-a-half years ago when he was signed by then Cherries manager Eddie Howe on loan from Arsenal.
During his loan spell, Wilshere became a fan favourite amongst the Dean Court faithful and made 27 Premier League appearances for the club, in what turned out to be the most game time he had enjoyed in the league since the 2010/11 season with Arsenal with 1,916 minutes played.
His form with AFC Bournemouth saw him return to London to make 20 Premier League appearances and 13 UEFA Europa League appearances for Arsenal, before making the move across the capital to West Ham United.
However, the move proved to be an unsuccessful one, with just 601 minutes of league football in over two years with the club, with Wilshere eventually having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
Will Wilshere sign for AFCB?
Yes
No
AFC Bournemouth manager Jason Tindall told talkSPORT as quoted by the Daily Echo…
“We’ve not had the conversation (about signing a contract)…
“…He’s loved being back here, he’s got a great relationship with the players and staff at the football club – he’s really enjoying his time here so far.
“We will just have to see and maybe have a discussion in the next week or so.”
“Whenever you’ve got a player of Jack’s quality, that’s training with you and you’re able to have a look closely – it would be foolish to say there’s not a chance of wanting to do something.
“It’s just a matter of seeing where he is, seeing if we feel he can be an asset for us for the second half of the season and almost then making the decision based on all the variables.”
Alex Crook from talkSPORT, however, believes that “loose discussions” between Wilshere and AFC Bournemouth have taken place and that interest could now pick up a faster pace following the injury of Junior Stanislas against Millwall.

#AFCB midfielder Junior Stanislas will be out for a number of weeks with the ankle injury suffered in midweek. Another blow for him. No contract on the table yet for Jack Wilshere but am led to believe loose discussions have taken place.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that a short-term deal could be offered to Wilshere.

A match fit Wilshere can open up a defence with a class pass or lob over the top, we saw it when he was here the last time.
That would suit Solanke to nip in and hopefully score.
But you also don’t want to upset the players we already have.
