AFC Bournemouth defender Baily Cargill could be set to return from injury this week.

The centre back has been sidelined due to injury since he sustained ankle ligament damage whilst on loan with Coventry City towards the end of last season.

He joined League One side Gillingham on loan on transfer deadline day but a injury has prevented him from so far making his debut for his adopted club.

However Cargill is now inching towards making a return and could feature for the AFC Bournemouth development squad later today (Wednesday) against Peterborough.

Gillingham are hopeful that if he comes through that game he could then feature in the squad for the first time for the FA Cup fixture against Brackley Town.

Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh told the Kent Online

“His fitness is good and all being well he would be able to take part in the squad for Saturday.

“We don`t know whether he will be able to start (against Brackley Town) but if he gets what we hope on Wednesday then he could be in the squad.”
