AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that England recognition could be in line for a number of his squad.

Caretaker England manager Gareth Southgate was at Dean Court recently to watch AFC Bournemouth against Tottenham Hotspur and the following week he travelled to Middlesbrough to watch the Cherries for a second time.

Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere completed 90 minutes for both of those games, so could be set for a return to the international fold.

However AFC Bournemouth also boast a number of players who are available to Southgate including Adam Smith, Simon Francis, Steve Cook, Charlie Daniels, Andrew Surman, Junior Stanislas, Jordon Ibe and Callum Wilson.

Howe told the Daily Echo

“Who knows? It`s not for me to pick the England team.

“I think if the lads continue to play as well as they have, and as consistently as they have, then hopefully that recognition would not be too far away.

“But they still have to earn that call and it`s not going to be given to them.”
