AFC Bournemouth are set to sign Winchester City striker Jamie White.

The 21 year old was a trainee at local rivals Southampton, but was released after suffering a terrible injury record which included two knee reconstructions, a broken leg and a dislocated ankle.

He moved on to Winchester and so far this season has scored 18 goals in 12 Wessex Premier League fixtures.

He had been training with the Cherries squad for several weeks and has reportedly impressed and is set to be offered terms later today (Thursday).

Winchester chairman Paul McCarthy told the Southern Daily Echo

‘Losing Jamie would be a big blow but we won’t stand in his way.

‘He’s a terrific kid and a terrific player and he deserves some luck after all the injuries he’s had.’
