AFC Bournemouth are reportedly willing to listen to offers regarding 21-year-old striker Christian Saydee.

Saydee came through the youth system at Reading before making the switch to Bournemouth in 2018.

The young striker scored on his Cherries debut in the Football League Cup against the side from Stadium:MK in July 2021, during the first full-attendance game following the global pandemic.

He has recently enjoyed loan spells with both Burton Albion and Shrewsbury Town in League One.

Last season, Saydee scored 7 goals in 35 appearances for Shrewsbury and appears to have impressed south coast side Portsmouth, who will be aiming to reach the play-offs in the third tier of English football during the upcoming 2023/24 campaign.

According to Football Insider, “Portsmouth are keeping close tabs on his situation and have been in touch with the Premier League club to express an interest in a summer deal.”

Saydee actually spent time on trial with Portsmouth last summer, playing in two pre-season friendlies before Portsmouth opted against making an offer. Will it be second time lucky for Saydee this time around?

If we do sell him I’d hope we put in a buy-back clause because I think he has potential. He’s a physical striker with good feet, needs experience but there’s a good player in there, I’ve got friends who are Shrewsbury fans and they rated him when he was there last season. – To join the conversation, click here.
