AFC Bournemouth are reportedly once again in discussions with Championship side Bristol City over a big spending transfer deal.

In 2019, the Cherries signed Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City for an officially undisclosed but reported £ 13 million, and then in January 2023 the clubs agreed a fee that would potentially rise to £10.5 million for Antoine Semenyo.

But the clubs could now be discussing a deal that would be worth both of those transfer fees combined for a deal regarding 19-year-old England Under-20 international midfielder Alex Scott.

AFC Bournemouth could face fierce competition for the teenager’s signature according to the Daily Mail.

The tabloid newspaper reported that…

“Liverpool’s head of recruitment Dave Fallows and chief scout Barry Hunter were also among the crowd to check on the player as England U20s faced Germany last month in March, though it’s unclear if their interest remains.”

The report added that “Wolves and West Ham have also kept a regular check on the ‘Guernsey Grealish'”.

Since making his debut for Bristol City in April 2021, Scott has made 86 appearances in all competitions, scoring 5 goals and claiming 6 assists.

He might be absolute mustard when he steps up or he could have a career like Ryan Sessegnon where he tore the Championship apart but has struggled since he moved. Spurs can afford £20m mistakes, we can’t afford £25m ones.

It’s a strange one, clearly a good player but never worth £ 25 million, maybe to Bristol he is but not to anyone else. In a few years, he might be worth that but not now. I can see someone signing him on deadline day when Bristol just decide to cash in on him like they did with Semenyo. – To join the conversation, click here.
