After our excellent performance up in a snow/rain swept match in Yorkshire against Barnsley, coming away with three well-earned points after inflicting Barnsley’s highest home defeat of the season 0-4 and the biggest margin since they went down in their first Championship game of the 2013-14 season against Wigan Athletic 0-4. The Cherries now have another away game on Tuesday night away in Wales against Swansea City. Going into this game AFCB are second in the table with 30 points after 16 games, this was the same number of points and games at this stage of the Cherries promotion season in 2014-15 from the Championship into the Premier League. Swansea are in fourth place one point behind AFCB.

The Swansea City manager is Steve Cooper, he took on the role in June 2019 for the start of the 2019-20 season after Graham Potter left to join Brighton. Cooper was formerly England Under 17 manager. In his first season in charge, Swansea finished 6th and in a play-off position. They lost in the semi-final to Brentford.

In the Summer Swansea City signed five players, winger Jamal Lowe for £800,000 from Wigan, midfielder Ryan Manning from QPR for an undisclosed fee. Free signings midfielder Korey Smith from Bristol City, defenders Ryan Bennett from Wolves and Joel Latibeaudiere from Manchester City. The Swans also brought in five players on loan.

This season Swansea are up challenging for a promotion spot. In their home games, they have won five games, 2-1 against Millwall, 2-0 against both Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers, 1-0 against Rotherham. They have drawn 0-0 with Birmingham and 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday. Lost 1-2 against Huddersfield Town. In their latest game, they beat Luton Town 2-0. Away from home, they have beaten three sides, Preston 0-1, Wycombe Wanderers 0-2 and Nottingham Forest 0-1. They have drawn three games 1-1, at Coventry City, Bristol City and Brentford. Lost against two teams, Norwich City 1-0 and Middlesbrough 2-1.

They have a mean defence and have only conceded four goals at home in eight games, equal top in this league with Middlesbrough before Friday night Barnsley had the same total. The Swans have scored eleven goals. Think this could be one of our hardest away games.

Swansea City were promoted into the Premier League at the end of the 2010-11 season via the play-offs. They remained in the top league until the end of the 2017-18 season when they were relegated back into the Championship.

The last time we met Swansea City at their Liberty Stadium was in November of the 2017-18 season in the Premier League, the game ended 0-0, in our game at Dean Court, it finished by just the one goal of the game to AFCB.

In all our league away games against the Swans, AFCB have W 6, D 7, L 14. In all competitions home and away, AFCB have W 23, D 12, L 23.

Jack Stacey is still out injured. When David Brooks was subbed at Barnsley he looked tired. Jefferson Lerma back in contention after missing the Barnsley game through suspension. According to JT both Arnaut Danjuma and Josh King are possibles for the Swansea game.

AFCB Player To Watch
The two S & S up front, Dominic Solanke and Sam Surridge, they gave the Barnsley defence a hard time. Sam having spent a season on loan at the Swans and confidence high after two goals in his last two games for AFCB.

Believe that we need to really attack this game, given Swansea’s defensive record I think that matching their three at the back system will only see them coming out on top. I would go 4-4-2 for this one. – Join the conversation, click here.
