In todays Daily Echo Eddie Mitchell confirmed plans for a uncovered ‘temporary` stand on the south side.

The plans have been expected by Cherries fans with some fixtures in the new season likely to max out the seating already available.

However in a surprise statement the Cherries Chairman claimed that the seating would be available for home supporters on fine days, but when the weather is less desirable it would house the away support. He told the paper?

“We would like them (Bournemouth fans) behind both goals? If it is tipping with rain or snowing the away fans will be there”

Does this mean the stand will be pay on the day only, with many fans buying tickets days in advance and the weather being so changeable will fans be forced to move seat?

The stand will hold a little over one thousand extra fans, if Mitchell can sell that many extra seats on a regular basis then it would be a big help in getting close to covering the Season Ticket total desired, which is still falling 1,200 short.

“We need people to come out in numbers and we need to sell season tickets? We want to get everyone behind us and would like to reach 3,000.

It is not a surprise with today`s economic fragility that the target set by Mitchell has not been set, perhaps he being unrealistic.

What will entice the floating supporter to commit their Saturday afternoons in advance or is there another option?
