AFC Bournemouth travelled to Sheffield United on Saturday on the back of a very disappointing defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

Cherries head coach Scott Parker made one change, Jaidon Anthony dropping out in favour of Sirike Dembele.

The home side were keen to add to their points tally as they continue to push for a Championship play-off place, whilst the visitors need the points to try and claim an automatic promotion place.

A draw, in the end, was probably a fair result and both sides may look at the well-earned point rather favourably come May.

After the match, Parker told Sky Sports

“It was a good point in the end. I thought it was a well-fought point, a very good game. Overall, I thought we were the better side for the majority of the game. I think it’s fair to say that Sheffield United had the better chances. I thought for large parts we were very good.

“It’s been a tough week for us. The turnaround has been pretty remarkable really. Two tough away games. West Brom on Wednesday night, get back in the early hours of the morning and then before you know it, we are on a plane to Sheffield. The atmosphere of what this stadium brings and the quality of the team. I think their record speaks volumes since Paul’s been in here at this place. It’s a tough place to come. Over the circumstances this week, my team were proper today and I’m very proud of the side.”

Decision making in the final third was quite poor again. Solanke looking a bit leggy. Would question the lack of substitutions to freshen things up more. Hopefully, Zemura isnโ€™t as bad as it looks.

Thought overall it was an even game until the last 15 minutes; we had quite a few half moments that couldโ€™ve presented clear chances with better decision making. Lucky to get away with the draw in the end but an improved performance from West Brom against better opponents with incredible home form. Iโ€™ll take it.

Your say…

We fought hard, very difficult place to go and that’s a big point. Our final ball was off today but we got into good positions. Yes, they had the best 3 chances of the game but I think it was pretty even up until the last 10 mins. Needed earlier changes as was crying out for fresh legs.

Move on to Boro…need to come flying out of the blocks then. – Join the conversation, click here.

We’ve had 2-3 decent wins recently each of which I thought were defining moments but I still can’t see us getting automatic promotion and I cringe when I hear Chris Mephams name mentioned.
I used to be indecisive….but now I’m not so sure!
