Sense and Sensible Spending

Bournemouth fans will be forgiven of late for getting a bit excited over no less than six new editions to the squad.

When the rush of excitement subsides the questions remains, how can a club that didn`t have enough money to pay the heating bill a couple of years back, suddenly be able to afford the wages for the influx of
six new bodies.

Majority shareholder Eddie Mitchell has been quick to dampen the fires of suspicion and fear in todays Daily Echo.

He told the paper?

“We have given Eddie a budget..we have not broken that budget”

Mitchell made it clear to the paper that Eddie is in control of his own budget and as manager is left to his own devices on whom we sign. Hopefully if his wheeling-dealing is half as good as the rest of his managerial skills we are in for a real treat.

What about the bigger picture? Well Mitchell went on to say that the club has a more stable financial footing under the Murry Group?

“We are being sensible? We have taken a year to clear virtually everything and we don`t want to go back to square one”.

Great news if true, the club is certainly looking on the up and up.
