AFC Bournemouth development squad coach Stephen Purches has praised striker Joe Quigley for his strong season.

The 19 year old forward has been out on loan this season, playing in the top tier of non league football for Woking, Torquay United and Wrexham.

He has scored during all three loan spells and has overall scored 7 goals in 33 appearances in the newly named National League.

Quigley remains on loan with Woking, but featured for the AFC Bournemouth Under 21’s squad against Reading, scoring a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory.

Purches told afcb.co.uk

“Joe has had a good, tough season, He`s been out on loan for most of it playing men`s football. So physically and mentally he`s probably really tired at the moment!

“I think he has enjoyed being able to come back, train and play with us though. Hopefully it can benefit him and everyone going forward, given that he can score goals like the first he did.

“He took all three really well. I am not sure if he`ll score another goal like that with his left foot ever again – though I hope he does!
