Following the extension to Steve Cook’s contract, AFCB have announced that both Adam Smith and Ryan Allsop have extended their deals at the club.

Smith has signed a new four-year deal, committing him to the club until the summer of 2020. It comes after he had a fantastic season, where he established himself into the right-back berth, making 36 appearances in all competitions.

He revealed his delight at the news to afcb.co.uk:

‘Of course I was happy to sign. The club have given me a long contract so I am glad I can see my future at Bournemouth for a long time. I am settled here, I get along with all of the lads and the gaffer knows me really well, so it was a no-brainer.’

Allsop penned a new two year deal, after a season where he made his Premier League debut but also had loan spells at Wycombe and Portsmouth.

He also spoke to afcb.co.uk:

‘I am really pleased to have it sorted. It`s a weight off my shoulders to get it over the line… I am very much looking forward to starting pre-season here and, hopefully, hitting the ground running. I love living in Bournemouth and love the club so I am delighted to be staying for another two years.’

Meanwhile, manager Eddie Howe was also pleased to have Allsop’s future secured at the club until the summer of 2018 as he told the Daily Echo:

‘For a goalkeeper, he is still young and someone who we believe has his best years ahead of him. We believe we need a team of good goalkeepers so are delighted he has committed his future to us. For his relatively short career so far, he has crammed in a lot of experiences. He was part of our promotion team from League One and has had various loan spells which are all helping him advance his career.’

A deal is still being negotiated with first choice goalkeeper, Artur Boruc, with reports suggesting The Cherries won’t look to sign anyone in that department should terms be agreed.
