AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was pleased with the season long loan signing of Chelsea utility player Nathan Aké.

The Cherries announced the signing of the Dutch Under 21’s international on Wednesday.

He follows in the footsteps of Christian Atsu who also made a loan move to Dean Court last summer.

Aké will be hoping to have a better experience than Atsu, who struggled with injury before having his loan cut short.

Aké spent last season on loan with Watford, where he made 32 appearances, including 24 games in the Premier League and Howe believes the Cherries can benefit from that experience.

Howe told the Daily Echo

“Nathan had a really good season with Watford and also caught the eye during his loan spell with Reading in the Championship…’

‘…He is technically very good and is coming to us with a really good year of Premier League games under his belt so we are really excited at the prospect of working with him.

“We will look to develop his talent and will be keen to see how he fits into the talented squad we have.

“He really did excel for Watford and I think those experiences will benefit us during the coming season.”

Very shrewd signing imho.

My one big question – what position is he going to play ?
