AFC Bournemouth have signed Nathan Aké on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

The Dutch Under 21’s international is an extremely versatile player, able to operate at left back, centre back and in central midfield.

Ake joined Chelsea from Feyenoord in 2010 when he was just 15.

He has been out on loan twice, once to Reading where he made 5 appearances in March 2015 and last season, where he spent the campaign on loan with Watford, where he made 32 appearances, including 24 games in the Premier League.

Ake has also made 12 appearances for Chelsea, including brief appearances in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Europa League, with the latter won in 2013.

AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told afcb.co.uk

“We are delighted to welcome Nathan to AFC Bournemouth, For a player of his age he already has great experience in the Premier League and we believe he will bring a lot to our squad.

“He is an international player with great pedigree, so we are really excited to have him join us for the upcoming season.”

Very shrewd signing imho.

My one big question – what position is he going to play ?
