AFC Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser has been called up to the Scotland squad for the first time.

The 23 year old, who made the move from Aberdeen to the Cherries in January 2013, has previously played for Scotland at Under 19’s and Under 21’s level.

But following 5 appearances during the Cherries promotion from the third tier of English football and 27 appearances during the Cherries promotion from the Championship it has been in the Premier League where he has really shone this season with 15 appearances and 3 goals.

Fraser has been named in Gordon Strachan’s 30-man squad for the friendly against Canada and FIFA World Cup qualifier against Slovenia.

It is good for your player to be called to play for his country.

On the other hand we have lost players through injury playing for their country and we don’t want to lose Fraser.
