Following the sad announcement of the death of Her Majesty The Queen on Thursday 8th September 2022, the Premier League have now announced that all games this weekend will be postponed, including AFC Bournemouth against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning monarch in British history, taking the throne 70 years ago. Her death at the age of 96, saw her eldest son Charles immediately become King Charles III.

The country has entered a period of national mourning and government advice has been that all sporting events this weekend should be postponed. The same advice has been given for the day of her funeral, which is yet to be announced.

The official decisions fell to each individual sporting body and whilst many expected the news, it has taken until this morning for the Premier League to confirm the postponements.

Everyone at AFCB Vital would like to pass our sincere condolences to the Royal Family.
