Cherries reserves’ first home match of the season will be against Southampton in the Pontin’s Holidays Central Division.

Bournemouth have been moved from the Wales and West League and will undertake far less travelling throughout the season.

The fixtures for this season partner Cherries against Championship sides Southampton, QPR, Crystal Palace as well as facing fellow League One rivals Millwall and Brighton.

Cherries assistant manager Richard O’Kelly commented, ‘This league is definitely better for us as many of the fixtures are closer to home than hat we’ve had in the past couple of seasons. What you want to reserve level is to play games, but not travel too far and that’s what we’ve now got.

‘From a managerial perspective the 2pm kick-offs enable Sean and myself to see our reserve games and also watch other games in the evening. And there is added spice with the Derby match against Southampton.’
