The protracted contract negotiations between AFC Bournemouth, Jaidon Anthony and Jordan Zemura has finally come to a resolution.

But whilst Anthony signed a new contract with the Cherries in February, Zemura has opted to end his AFC Bournemouth career and join Italian side Udinese for the 2023/24 campaign, signing a contract until the summer of 2027.

Jordan Zemura, when asked about his hobbies outside of football, candidly revealed his penchant for online casino games. He admitted that in his free time, he finds solace and inspiration in the virtual world of gambling. Online casinos offer him not only a means of relaxation but also a source of stimulation, igniting his competitive spirit and providing a refreshing break from the intensity of professional football. In the realm of online casinos, Zemura delves into a variety of gambling games at playtech online casino, from classic card games like poker to exhilarating slots and roulette. He finds the diverse array of options both captivating and intellectually stimulating, often immersing himself in strategic gameplay that requires quick thinking and calculated risk-taking.

Moreover, Zemura appreciates the convenience and accessibility of online casinos, allowing him to indulge in his passion from the comfort of his own home or while traveling for matches. Whether he’s winding down after a rigorous training session or seeking inspiration before a big game, the virtual tables of online casinos offer him a welcome escape and a chance to unwind.

Anthony and Zemura had been reportedly in negotiations over a new contract since the pair burst onto the first-team scene at the start of the 2021/22 Championship campaign under former head coach Scott Parker.

As early as October 2021, frustrations over the pair not signing new contracts had started to grow with Parker demanding that new contracts were agreed upon immediately or talks postponed indefinitely.

Their contracts were set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 season, but following promotion to the Premier League and despite failing to agree on new terms, the Cherries opted to trigger a clause in the pair’s deal that would extend their contracts for another calendar year.

Talks had continued throughout the current campaign, but whilst Anthony opted to sign a new four-and-a-half-year contract to remain on the south coast, according to the Daily Echo the “latest and final offer was made eight weeks ago” to Zemura, but “this offer has not been acknowledged by either Zemura or his representatives.”

According to that same report, the deal was said to be worth “in excess of ÂŁ30k per week, alongside additional bonuses and achievable salary rises”.

With that offer ignored, it appeared the 23-year-old’s intentions to leave Dean Court after four years on the south coast were clear.

This lack of communication had already seen Zemura dropped from the first team on a match day, but the consequences of the latest news saw him banished to train with the development squad, with Zemura never to play for AFC Bournemouth again.

Are AFCB correct to dump Zemura for the rest of the season?

According to the Daily Echo, the first time AFC Bournemouth had heard that Zemura was talking to other clubs about a potential move was when the Cherries received “a letter of intent” from Watford owners the Pozzo family, who also own Italian Serie A side Udinese.

Whilst under English Football Association rules Zemura is not able to sign pre-contract terms with other English clubs and the Cherries would be due a compensation fee, Zemura is able to sign pre-contract terms if he is moving abroad, whilst the compensation fee would also be considerably less.

The Pozzo family are infamous for the way they do business in regard to their family of football clubs across Europe. With loan and permanent deals between the clubs owned by the same family a regular occurrence. Between 2010 and 2020 alone over 5o deals were signed off between Watford and Udinese.

Your say…

I was sure if he was leaving, it was to be a squad player and cheap punt in the PL bottom half. They could still afford to give him a healthy wage and signing-on fee.

Serie A, Udinese? They don’t have that sort of money. Foley could probably pay better, but JZs dug himself a hole. Probably lost out on a huge amount of money these past 18 months. Poorly advised.

Can imagine Italy would be a life experience though so maybe there’s something to be said for that.

The risk is, he ends up at Watford in 2 years.

It isn’t a bad wage for a player at his career stage.

Italy could be the making of him though if they can use their famed defensive discipline to up his game at the back to go with his attacking flair.

He could also easily end up barely getting a game when the coaches watch on with horror at the way he defends.

Either way, he doesn’t want to be here so I’ve lost interest in him.

Odd move.

Is he so unprofessional that he can’t play out the rest of the season and give his all for us? Or is the club too stubborn? Either way seems ridiculous that we just write him off for the rest of the season. What happens if we get a couple of injuries? If not playing the rest of the season is down to his attitude and not the club, then it’s not a lot better than Fraser.

Find it hard to believe that his football prospects will be best served by going to Udinese. Or that his salary will be higher than what we’ve offered. My guess is his agent wants a big chunk of what will be a sizeable signing-on fee.

Has always given his all on the pitch so good luck to him. Fully expect to see him on Watford’s bench in 2 years though. – To join the conversation, click here.
