AFCB XI to face Tottenham Hotspur – Who should be on the teamsheet?

|

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe’s team selection and tactics for last weekends home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers came under close scrutiny.

The move to a back three and wingbacks did not prove a popular move amongst many of the Dean Court faithful, especially in the light of veteran defender Simon Francis returning to the side, making errors and ultimately getting sent off.

With Francis suspended for the trip to Tottenham Hotspurs’ new stadium, the only option for Howe, if he wants to stick with a back three, is to bring in Wales international Chris Mepham.

However, Mepham would prefer a slot on the left side of the defence, which would have to see a slight change for Steve Cook and Nathan Ake.

Howe could revert back to a flat back four and go with five in midfield. Philip Billing, however, is also suspended, leaving Howe with just Dan Gosling to play alongside Jefferson Lerma and Lewis Cook.

Upfront and the Cherries are again light of options with Joshua King and Dominic Solanke reportedly unavailable due to hamstring injuries.

We’ve suddenly become very very short in depth. Not sure how we’re going to fill out our bench without dipping into the YA or having someone there while they’re injured? Unless I’m missing something? – Join the conversation, click here.
