With the Norwich game another poor result and losing a key player after 31 minutes to a red card in Steve Cook. He will miss our next game which is an evening match against Brighton at Dean Court, It will be only 24 days ago since the sides met in our away game. When we met them last time at our ground back in the 2018-9 season, the Cherries had won 1 and lost 6 of their previous Premier League games. This season we have lost our last three games, scoring 0 and conceding 8. The last win at Dean Court in the Premier League was back on the 2nd November 2019 when we beat Manchester United 1-0 with that special goal from Josh King. Our team now desperately need a home win to get vital points and restore confidence.

Brighton since their home win against the Cherries, have drawn at home 1-1 with Chelsea, lost 1-0 away against Everton and drew at home 1-1 with Aston Villa.

Last season at Dean Court AFCB beat Brighton 2-0 and also won the away fixture later 0-5, completing the double over the team from Sussex.

This season Brighton have already beaten us at their place by 2-0, let’s hope they don’t get the double. In all our league meetings at Dean Court AFCB have Won 25 Drawn 17 & Lost 10. In all competitions, AFCB have Won 43 Drawn 29 & Lost 39.

AFCB Team News
Lloyd Kelly played 60 minutes for the Under 21 side, so is slowly getting closer to the first-team squad. Otherwise, on the injury front, there is no change except Jefferson Lerma been playing not fully fit. The bad news, we will miss the services of Steve Cook in the centre of defence due to suspension.

AFCB Player To Watch
Very difficult to pick someone out of a side performing poorly. Will Eddie stick to the same hoping Callum Wilson will come good? Maybe take a chance and give young Surridge a start. Another player who deserves a chance after the failings of some of our other midfielders is Surman. Experience with youth and rest one or two who have been out of sorts rather than hope game after game they will come good.

Brighton Team News
Dan Burn has a shoulder injury, Leon Balogun out with thigh injury and Jose Izquierdo has a knee injury.

Brighton Player To Watch
At their place, Aaron Mooy ran the show. Their young striker signed from Brentford Neal Maupay hasn’t scored for since their away game against Palace back in December.

The Referee
Kevin Friend, we had him for our first home game of the season against Sheffield United. VAR is watched by Darren England.

We have to get some creativity in midfield. Lerma and Billing can’t play someone in on goal to save their lives. Lewis Cook or Harry Wilson need to play in a creative role in the centre. It’s all very well complaining about Wilson and Fraser etc but they are not getting the ball at pace up the field, Wilson has never been a hold-up type of forward but he is having to do that as no one plays him a ball into him on the shoulder of the last man. – Join the conversation, click here.
