AFC Bournemouth midfielder Andrew Surman has called upon his team-mates to be both mentally and physically right for the Premier League fixture with Hull City.

Surman was part of the squad selected for last weekends FA Cup third round tie against League One side Millwall.

The Cherries went on to get knocked out of the FA Cup 3-0, with a disappointing display which arguably had no positives to take for the players involved.

Surman told the Daily Echo

“…Whether you`re playing regularly or not, we all needed to play better and give the gaffer something to think about, We didn`t do that. Every player who comes into the team should know his job.

‘When players come in or the team changes it shouldn`t affect you too much.

“The gaffer is the only one who knows what he wants to do at Hull. Any players called upon will have to make sure they`re mentally and physically right.”

Your Say…

‘City of Culture, you’re having a laugh’, seems like a good song for Saturday.
Not been to the new ground, visited Boothferry Park for our final away game in the Dave Webb promotion season in Div 4. Evening game got home about 11 the following morning, slept in the waiting room at Doncaster railway station as we missed the last train back to London – happy days.

That was 81/82. In the space of 8 days I went to our away games at Wigan, Bradford City and Hull – about 1600 miles for 3 consecutive draws – must be bloody mad. We also played Hull at home 10 days before the away game.
