Brendan Rodgers has Eddie Howe in his pocket tactically.

The whole performance against Leicester City was absolute tripe. Ryan Fraser, Callum Wilson, Joshua King, David Brooks, Charlie Daniels, Nathaniel Clyne all off their games horribly.

Dan Gosling And Jefferson Lerma did ok in the middle given the setup.

Asmir Begovic really flaps around a lot and gives the back four no confidence whatsoever.

Did you notice that Leicester had the clear tactic to knock it around at the back, use Kasper Schmeichel as an outlet and draw our front two towards their keeper to open up the lines between our attack and midfield?

It’s a simple tactic that sapped our strikers energy, and all Schmeichel had to do was lob the ball over our advanced forwards and drop it into midfield where a blue shirt picked it up over and over again. Rinse repeat.

I don’t think any top clubs would touch Howe, to be honest, he’s great for this club but gets out smarted by top managers week in week out.

Leicester were pretty rubbish but our boys made them look half decent.

Your say…

Midfield is key… protects the back and supplies the forwards…

We all know we’ve lacked here for ages. To be still relying on our League One duo of Gosling and Surman, after 4 Premier League seasons is scandalous.

I know we bought in Lewis Cook for this reason but for whatever reason he’s never ‘really’ established himself with consistency… Hopefully next season…

I don’t get why we’ve adopted this ‘soak pressure and counter’ style this year… even at home, we hand over so much possession…?!?!

Get in a decent midfield, get back to dominating possession and play, bring in a new keeper and ship out the last few remaining long-term servants of the club (as sad as that would be). – Join the conversation, click here.
