Matt Ritchie is excited about the prospect of facing his boyhood club in the Capital One Cup.

The Cherries winger, who despite only joining in January, is already being linked to other clubs following his impressive displays, made his league debut for Pompey before he moved on to Swindon and made his name.

After yesterday’s draw, he will now be able to pitch himself up against the south-coast side that have been severely affected by financial problems. He told afcb.co.uk:

‘It will be probably be a full house that early on in the season, so hopefully it will be a good atmosphere. It`s a derby too and the fans always make it good, but it will be down to the two teams. I’m sure Portsmouth will be a good outfit this season and it will be a tough test for us.’
