New Cherries manager Jimmy Quinn spoke confidently in front of the assembled press, to announce that he was the man to take over from Kevin Bond.

The former Reading, Swindon and Cambridge manager has taken over with immediate affect, although it is believed that head of youth Joe Roach will lead the side tonight against Bristol Rovers in the Football League trophy.

Quinn will be joined as previously believed by Jason Tindall, who will act as Quinn’s assistant.

He told the press…

“It’s an absolute pleasure to be back. I was only here a season (as a player), but I had a great time and a great rapport with the fans…

“…I’ve known Savi (chief executive Alistair Saverimutto) a long time before he got to the club. I had a call from him on Monday to come down and have a chat.”

“I was offered the job and I’m absolutely delighted to be here…
