Eunan O’Kane will be fit to return to the first day of pre-season training in July. There is less good news for Elliot Ward and Joe Partington though.

O’Kane aggravated his shoulder during the final match of the season at Millwall, leading to him being replaced at half-time and departing the New Den with his arm in a sling.

However, after scans, Cherries physio, Steve Hard, is pleased to announce that the injury is only minor and that surgery is not required.

The news is less positive for Elliot Ward, after injurying his knee against Leicester in February he then reaggravated it on his return on Easter Monday leading to surgery. The 12 week break will keep him out until mid-July, although he will do some work with Hard before the rest of the squad return.

Partington suffered a serious knee injury whilst on loan at Aldershot where he ruptured his ligaments, requiring his knee to be reconstructed. The 3 to 4 month absence he was told to have will mean him returning at the end of July.
