AFC Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings is hopeful he can now step up his rehabilitation schedule following a back problem.

Mings had made three appearances during the current 2017/18 campaign, with all three seeing Mings named in the starting XI.

The first came in the EFL Cup against Birmingham City, but the other two appearances came in the Premier League as AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe adopted a three at the back formation.

That saw Mings operate on the left hand side of a three man defence alongside Nathan Ake and Steve Cook.

However the 24 year old was forced off at half time against Arsenal and is yet to return.

Mings told the Daily Echo

‘I’m looking to get back in the next month or two…

‘…I’m into the rehab phase now and, hopefully, I will start running in the next few days.

‘As long as there is no reaction and it doesn’t flare up again, we should be fine to move on to the next stage.

‘It’s difficult to know timescales because it really depends on how I react to the next thing.’
