AFC Bournemouth midfielder Shaun MacDonald and striker Tokelo Rantie have been called up to international duty with Wales and South Africa respectively.

They join Artur Boruc who has been named in the Poland squad, Harry Arter who has been called up to the Republic Of Ireland side for the first time in his career and Matt Ritchie who has also received his first international call-up with Scotland.

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will also be without Ryan Fraser during the international window as he has been named in the Scotland Under 21’s squad.

Howe told the afcb.co.uk

“With our success, it is a natural progression, We are going to lose more players to international duty.

“It (the international break) is a time when we do a lot of work with the squad and work on how we play.

“We are going to miss that now, with even more going away, but I think we get a benefit from it.

“Because our players are still young, they are coming back better players.”
