AFC Bournemouth striker Joshua King is being targeted by Everton as Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku’s replacement.

Everton sold Lukaku to Manchester United over the summer for £75million after he scored 25 goals and took 6 assists during the 2016/17 season.

Whilst signing Wayne Rooney, they haven’t replaced him directly and summer speculation had linked King with a move to Premier League sides Tottenham Hotpsur and Everton.

Spurs reportedly saw him as a potential backup striker to England International Harry Kane, whilst Everton saw him more as a potential first choice option.

However he went on to sign a new four year contract with the Cherries just a few weeks ago, a deal that was seen as crucial following his 16 goals and 2 assists last season.

But following his goals against Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton this season, The Sun believe Everton are set to reignite their interest.

‘Club spies think the tall Norwegian could make up for the loss of Lukaku to Manchester United, which has blighted the Toffees` start to the campaign. the report stated, adding ‘The £20million-rated star was linked with Tottenham last season as competition for Harry Kane.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman wants a versatile forward to add pace to his attack and King has all of those qualities.

£20 million though? For a striker scoring regularly in the PL still in his mid-twenties that counts as home grown and has four years left on his contract in the current market place? Hahahahahaha.Join the conversation here.
