If The Pryce Is Right

Last season Moss, Stewart, Pryce, Begovic and Forde all played in goal for AFC Bournemouth.

Another recent season saw the goalkeeping situation so bad at Bournemouth that Marcus Browning had to be drafted in between the sticks.

Cherries fans I am sure dont want a repeat of such an fiasco and so the choice of who will be AFC Bournemouth number one is a hot topic.

With Neil Moss retired Ryan Pryce has spoken for his desire to step up in today`s Daily Echo.
The graduate from the Cherries Youth set-up said:

“If I do my best in pre-season and show him what I’ve got, it’s up to the manager. If he brings someone in I’ll understand but if he sticks with me it will be great to be playing.’

After a glowing report of confidence in the future goalkeeping from last years number one Neil Moss, Ryan was happy to recognise help he received from the loyal stopper. He said:

‘Mossy has been massive for me. He was superb and helped me out with a lot of things and looked out for me when I first started.’

At last night`s fan forum Bond spoke of needing a keeper amongst other things (wide player, defender and a forward- so everything then Kev?). So it would be unlikely that Pryce is number one but with years on his side and exciting prospect for the future.

Meanwhile Kevin Bond told the Echo today in a rather confusing set of statements that he is not sure what he has in the way of money to spend. He said:

‘Firstly, I need to know precisely where I am with my playing budget and what it encompasses. I also need to know what, if any, I’ve got to lever with beyond it.’

He then went on to explain how he is not a pessimist but a realist and can`t afford to get too overly optimistic.

Bond will look at Stoke Pair Richie De Laet and Ryan Shotton when the team take on Poole Town tonight and it would seem we also have QPR defender John Fletcher training with the squad although it has yet to be made clear whether he will feature.
