AFC Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser could be set to make his debut for Scotland against England in their World Cup qualifier.

The two home nations clash at Hampden Park in Group F, as the two sides aim to qualify for the World Cup in Russia in 2018.

Fraser is yet to make his first appearance for the full national side, after making 6 appearances for the Under 19’s and 10 appearances for the Under 21’s (scoring 3 times).

After an impressive season in the Premier League with AFC Bournemouth, Howe believes Fraser is ready to take his international bow.

Howe told the Daily Echo

‘Without a shadow of a doubt. In the season just gone, Ryan proved, to himself more than anyone, how good he is. I think that was, potentially, the only thing holding him back.

‘He is a really talented individual and a great player to work with. There is still a lot of development in him as he is still relatively young.

‘I see the international stage as a nice step for him and if he shows his Bournemouth form, he can certainly impress at that level.’

The game this evening is live on both ITV and Sky Sports.

One of my best mates is an Aberdeen ST holder, they were gutted to lose him.

A common comment from him is that Ryan is now doing for us in the PL exactly what he did as a wee youngster for them in the SPL, scaring the beejaysus out of the opposition with the added benefit of being smarter with age and experience in avoiding the reckless challenges thrown at him.

A great young player on an upward trajectory.
