AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has been very disappointed with the Cherries start to the new season, with back-to-back defeats against West Brom and Watford.
The Cherries have started the 2017/18 Premier League campaign in a 4-4-1-1 system, with Joshua King and Benik Afobe up front.
That strikeforce contributed to many goals last season, boosting the Cherries final flurry of results towards the end of the season to a 9th placed finish.
However thus far this season, AFC Bournemouth have been lacking a goal threat and are yet to find the net in 180 minutes of football.
Immediately after the game against Watford, Howe told Sky Sports…
‘…It is really unlike us, I can’t put my finger on why. Usually we are a very free-flowing and creative team and very good with the ball. Not so much against West Brom, but today we were very poor with the ball and we gave away needless possession.
‘And I think if you do that against any team in the Premier League, you are going to be in big trouble, and Watford counterattacked really well today.
‘Usually we are a lot better in working our way out of situations, but we found that very difficult today.’

No passion, no midfield, no accuracy in passing, no bite up front. Too predictable.
I hate to say it but Eddie only deserves 3 1/2. Poor starting eleven, then taking off Afobe who at least was using his physical presence for once and replace him with a 5’6 forward was strange. Perhaps as Josh was so anonymous, Eddie forgot he was on the field to be subbed! – Join the conversation here.
