AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was frustrated to leave Leicester with just the one point.

Despite the Arctic weather conditions on the south coast disrupting the Cherries travel plans, having to take a late coach on Friday instead of going by plane, AFC Bournemouth initially took the lead through Joshua King.

The Cherries leading Premier League goalscorer, stepped up to take a penalty after he himself had been brought down on the edge of the box.

AFC Bournemouth should have had a second penalty when Charlie Daniels was blatantly pushed over inside the box, but this was ignored by the referee.

The scoreline remained at 0-1 until the 7th minute of stoppage time when Riyad Mahrez scored a free kick from distance to share the points.

Howe told the afcb.co.uk

‘…The goalkeeper and defenders put their bodies on the line, we weathered a mini storm but I thought we’d be OK. A moment of magic killed us at the end.’

‘…We were into seven minutes of added time and felt the final whistle was seconds away.

‘It’s a frustration not to get over the line, but it wasn’t to be, credit to Leicester.

‘We could have had a second penalty earlier in the second half but it wasn’t be, but from then on we defended our goal really well.

Argh, very frustrating, great effort by the lads, thought we had 3 precious points in the bag…

Haven`t seen it but the Five Live commentator (Pat Murphy?) was very critical of Cook`s tackle which gave them the free kick and opportunity to equalise, ‘unnecessary` he called it. What`s the view of guys who were there? Sounds like we had defended brilliantly until then.

I thought we were going to lose 1-0 so can`t be too upset with a draw. 90+7 though!

Onwards to Spurs next week!
