AFC Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser has confessed that he is flattered by the rumoured interest of Arsenal and AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is worried that we may well see just a few more appearances of the Scotland International in a red and black shirt.

It has been long thought that AFC Bournemouth and Scotland international Ryan Fraser could be out-of-contract at the end of next season.

The 25-year-old signed a new contract in February 2017 with a reported expiry date of the summer of 2020 and a new deal is yet to have been reported.

It has been reported that AFC Bournemouth and Fraser have held talks over a fresh contract, with eye-watering figures of £100,000-a-week wages reportedly being offered to Fraser to keep him on the south coast.

But as yet no deal has been struck.

That means that AFC Bournemouth are at risk of seeing Fraser leave the Cherries on a free transfer in a little over 12 months time.

British tabloid newspaper The Mirror has reported that Arsenal could be ready to make a summer move for Fraser and considering Scotland internationals contract situation the Cherries would have to consider cashing in.

The report claimed…

Arsenal have got Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser on their transfer summer hit-list.

Gunners boss Unai Emery wants a wide player and a box-to-box midfielder and they have had glowing reports on 25-year-old Fraser.

Scotland international Fraser has been catching the eye with performances with Bournemouth this season and other clubs have been looking as Tottenham have also scouted him.

Following the speculation, Ryan Fraser told Sky Sports News, as quoted by the Daily Echo

“I’m not going to lie, it’s very nice. It means you are doing something right.

“They are a huge club, a massive club. When you see your name thrown around you always think to yourself that you are a Bournemouth player and you try to do well.

“I’m not going to lie, you do feel good, especially when it’s a massive club.

“I will just keep doing what I am doing, try to enjoy myself and try to win the game for my team.

“What will be, will be.”

Meanwhile, AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has confirmed to BBC Radio Solent that Ryan Fraser has thus far turned down a new contract at Dean Court and could leave the club as early as the end of the current 2018/19 Premier League campaign.

Emery is a high-pressing manager, expecting everyone to hassle the opposition, from the front. Fraser can do that. Although his final ball might frustrate a team of Arsenal’s (occasional) class.

His contract situation means we can’t negotiate from the strongest position ever and Arsenal do like to look for value on both fees and wages, quite happy to let Wilshere and Ramsey go when their wage demands become too large to justify.

This rumour does make some sense. Although I doubt Fraser is such a standout target that he’s top of their list. He’s likely somewhere amongst a number of targets from Europe. – Join the conversation, click here.
