AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has paid tribute to Harry Arter following the midfielder signing a new contract with the Cherries.

The 27 year old joined the Cherries in June 2010 for just £4,000 from Woking.

AFC Bournemouth had just earned promotion from the fourth tier of English football when Arter arrived.

The midfielder has since gone on to play 239 times for AFC Bournemouth and played a key role in both AFC Bournemouth’s promotions from League One in 2013 and from the Championship in 2015.

He has since gone on to establish himself in the top flight of English football, signing a new contract at Dean Court until the summer of 2021.

Arter told afcb.co.uk

“Once I heard the club wanted to give me a new deal, it was a pretty easy decision, The team has been successful over the last few years and you want to be part of somewhere that is continually progressing.

“I just want to improve all the time and it`s nice to be part of a squad who are all trying to do that, too.”

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe added…

“Harry has been such an important player for us over a long period of time.

“He is a real winner and has been at the heart of most of the good things that have happened on the pitch.

“He has been outstanding in terms of his conduct and attitude to the group and it`s great news that he has committed his future to the club.”
