AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that Nathan Ake has been an excellent addition to the side following his permanent move from Chelsea in the summer.

Ake first made the move to Dean Court on loan in July 2016, after a slow start to his time on the south coast he finally broke into the side and made 12 appearances scoring three goals.

His form was appreciated by his parent club and he was promptly recalled to Stamford Bridge, where he made five appearances including two appearances in the Premier League.

In the summer, he returned to AFC Bournemouth as the clubs new record signing for a fee reported to be around £20million.

Ake has won numerous man of the match and player of the month awards during his second spell with the Cherries.

Howe told the Daily Echo

“I think Nathan has been a model of consistency. He is a great character with a great temperament.

‘He trains very well every day and has the mentality to want to be at his best, whether it is a five-a-side or a training drill.

“I think you have then seen that come out on the pitch. He has been excellent for us and I am delighted with his contribution.”

should have been 0-4 (against Newcastle). Some great defending by Ake and Cook kept us in the game, often they were left 2 against 2.Join the conversation here.
