AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes that record signing Nathan Ake has a great future ahead of him with the Cherries.

On Friday, the Cherries confirmed that Ake would be returning to the south coast from Premier League champions Chelsea.

It has been previously reported that the fee being paid to the Premier League champions is in the region of £20million and Ake has signed a five year contract.

Ake officially returned to Dean Court virtually one year after he previously agreed to a loan move to the club.

That deal ended prematurely after his performances impressed Chelsea enough to recall him early.

The signing was AFC Bournemouth’s third of the summer thus far, following the £8million signing of Asmir Begovic from Chelsea and the free signing of Jermain Defoe from Sunderland.

Howe told afcb.co.uk

“I am delighted that we have completed the signing of Nathan on a permanent basis.

“He is someone we know all about, having had a very successful loan spell here last season.

“Nathan is an outstanding young player with a fantastic attitude and a great desire to learn and develop.

“He has a very bright future ahead of him and I`m very pleased to say that future is here.”
