Big Fletch was happy to sign a new deal at Dean Court and thinks there is no time limit on how long he can continue playing.

Speaking to the Daily Echo after agreeing new terms he said…

‘I’ve got as long left as I’m doing well and am being picked so it’s pointless putting a time limit on it. I’ve had 12-month contracts for the past four years and although I never expect any more, I’m always pleased to get one.

‘I’m sure there will come a time when Sean thinks otherwise, but while I’m still doing okay, I’m more than happy to sign.’

Speaking about Weymouth making a move for him over the summer he added…

‘I saw the Weymouth stuff but was never contacted by their manager and Sean didn’t get me in to talk about it, I would never disregard any team, whether it be Weymouth or anyone else but I was never in a position where Bournemouth weren’t offering me a contract.

‘If Bournemouth had turned around and said they weren’t prepared to offer me anything then I would have had to weigh up other options. But my first option was always to stay here.

‘This is my club and I want to stay. It means more to me than anything and it’s part of my life. If anybody thinks I’m going to turn around and just disregard the club then they’ve got another thing coming.’
