AFC Bournemouth Club Captain Steve Fletcher believes that the Cherries will come good once the season starts.
The Cherries have had an indifferent start to pre-season, with only one win out of four.
The Cherries kicked off pre-season with defeat away to Havant and Waterlooville. They then beat Hamworthy Recreational before losing a secret behind close doors friendly to Southampton 4-0. This past saturday saw the Cherries lose the Dorset Derby away to Weymouth 2-0.
Steve Fletcher speaking to the Daily Echo said…
‘The time to start panicking if we’re not performing is on August 5 you can’t judge us on these games.
‘We’ve had pre-seasons when I’ve been at the club where we’ve tortured teams. I remember beating Hamworthy 10-0, beating Bashley 5-0 or 6-0 and then not being able to buy a goal when the season started.
‘Then there are other times when we’ve not fired on all cylinders, a bit like now and have started the season flying.’
‘…It’ll probably just click all of a sudden, but we’ll keep working hard in training and it will come right for us.’
We’re not panicking, but it is definitely a concern.
‘…It’s not that these games don’t matter of course they matter and we are taking them very seriously.’
