AFC Bournemouth stand in captain Tommy Elphick believes that on loan defender Dan Seaborne had an encouraging start to his spell with the Cherries.

Seaborne made his debut for AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night after joining the club on loan from Southampton for the remainder of the season last week.

Seaborne replaced Steve Cook at the centre of defence due to Cook being unavailable due to the start of his court case.

The Cherries went on to return to winning ways against Hartlepool, bouncing back from back to back defeats against Wigan and Walsall.

Elphick told afcb.co.uk

“I thought we were excellent, We played some really good football, and although we made it difficult for ourselves at times, we were well worth the win.

“…It was good, Dan has come from a Premier League club, and he showed his quality. It`s good for him to be here and play regular football.

“He is a left-footed centre half so that compliments me. We saw on Tuesday that he likes to get the ball down and play. That suited us terrifically because we had some nice play from the back and it was an encouraging debut from him.”
