Reports in the Daily Echo claim that Warren Cummings could be making his return to first team action this week in a behind close doors game against Weymouth.

Cummings who has been out of action with a broken leg since March is in full training and the decision is all down to him whether or not he wants to play in the friendly tomorrow.

Warren Cummings won the fans player of the season award last season and was also included in the PFA League One team of the season. All this came despite a double leg break away at Swindon during a 3-0 win in March.

Warren has had to deal with a few set backs during his road to recovery. He was put back a few months due to the leg not setting correctly in the plaster and he also suffered an infection.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, Sean O’Driscoll said ‘It would be another step on the road, both psychologically and physically. He’s training with us, but he’s still not quite right.’

‘He still runs with a limp and he’s still finding his feet, but he’s getting there and, sooner or later, he’ll be back which will be good.’
